2014 LIBRARY LEVY FACT SHEET

WHY: Since 2010 the library has been totally funded by the levy. The current levy expires December 31, 2014.

WHEN: August 5, 2014 Primary Election.

LENGTH: Three years. January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2017.

RATE: 27.7 cents per $1,000 of assessed value. This is a 3 cent increase from the expiring levy. The increase is necessary to fund the approximate $15,000 cost allocation and anticipated labor and inflationary increases over the next 3 years.

WHAT IT WILL PROVIDE: Passage of this levy will insure the library remains open with current staffing for 5 days a week for 35 hours a week. The library will provide the same great services and programs for people of all ages. The library meeting room will remain open for the hundreds of groups and thousands of people who use it each year. Library patrons will continue to enjoy an updated and less expensive data base that is more user friendly and relevant to their needs.
