Programs for Teens
Check the online calendar of events or stop in at the library front desk for more information about programs and events. Attendance at any of the library events indicates permission for the Ocean Shores Public Library to use photographs or videos taken of you or your children for the purpose of promoting the library and its services. Programs for all ages are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ocean Shores Public Library.
Teen Advisory Board (TAB) Meeting
Monday, October 7th, 3:00 - 4:00 PM
Monday, November 4th, 3:00 - 4:00 PM
The Teen Advisory Board is made of 7-12 grade students who want to assist the library with planning programs and selecting materials for the young adult collection. Being a TAB member also looks great on job applications and college applications.
Interested teens can email Michelle Traer, or come in the library to pick up an application. Sponsored by the Ocean Shores Friends of the Library.
D&D Game Night
Fridays from 4:30 - 7:30 PM. October 11th, 18th, 25th & November 1st.
Want to play Dungeons and Dragons but don't have group of people to play with? The library has all the materials you'll need to play, all you need to bring is a desire to adventure! This program is open to everyone ages 10 and older. No prior experience with D&D is required, players of all experience levels are welcome!
Virtual Reality (VR)
Saturday, October 19th, 1:00 - 4:00 PM
A whole world of immersive experiences awaits! Come Experience VR, from experiences like a tour of the International Space Station, walking on the beach, or be in the middle of the action in a 360 degree video. Enjoy immersive games that allow you to fly a plane, or be a chef at a fancy restaurant.
Spots are limited call or visit the library to reserve your experience.
AGES 13 AND UP.
Teen Zone
Monday, October 28th, 3:00 - 5:00 PM
The library becomes a teen only zone where students in grades 7-12 can have a safe space to hang out with friends, play video games, watch movies, or sing karaoke. There will be snacks provided as well.
The Teen Zones are sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
Teen Video Game Club
Wednesday, November 6th, 3:00 - 5:00 PM
Drop by the library on the first Wednesday of every month to hang out with friends and play games.
Collection Highlights : Graphic Novels
What used to be called Comic Books have graduated into Graphic Novels and the library has an extensive collection in the Young Adult Area. A large portion of these are ‘Manga’ a very popular graphic novel style from Japan that you read backwards! There is action, romance, and fantasy. Check it out!
