Programs for Teens
Check the online calendar of events or stop in at the library front desk for more information about programs and events. Attendance at any of the library events indicates permission for the Ocean Shores Public Library to use photographs or videos taken of you or your children for the purpose of promoting the library and its services. Programs for all ages are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ocean Shores Public Library.
Teen Planning Committee (TPC)
Monday, November 10th, 3:00 - 4:00 PM
Monday, December 8th, 3:00 - 4:00 PM
Young adults in grades 7-12 are invited to attend the first meeting of the school year.
This Committee comes up with ideas for fun teen events to have at the library. They also recommend books and movies to be purchased.
D&D Game Night
Fridays from 4:30 - 7:30 PM. November 14th, 21st & December 5th. No D&D 11/28.
Want to play Dungeons and Dragons but don't have group of people to play with? The library has all the materials you'll need to play, all you need to bring is a desire to adventure! This program is open to everyone ages 10 and older. No prior experience with D&D is required, players of all experience levels are welcome!
Virtual Reality (VR)
Saturday, November 15th, 1:00 - 4:00 PM
A whole world of immersive experiences awaits! Come Experience VR, from experiences like a tour of the International Space Station, walking on the beach, or be in the middle of the action in a 360 degree video. Enjoy immersive games that allow you to fly a plane, or be a chef at a fancy restaurant.
Spots are limited call or visit the library to reserve your experience.
AGES 13 AND UP.
Teen Zone
Monday, November 24th, 3:00 - 5:00 PM
The library is open to 7-12 grade students only. Teens will be able to play video games on the big projector screen. There will be snacks and drinks provided.
This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
Friends of the Library (FOL) Big Book Sale
Friday, November 28th, 12:00 - 1:00 PM (Members Only), 1:00 - 4:00 PM (Public Sale)
Saturday, November 29th, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Public Sale)
Saturday from 1:00 - 3:00 PM there will be a $5 bag sale!
Book sales are held in the Library Meeting Room. Books of all genres will be available for purchase. Great deals on books, DVDS, audio books, games etc. Proceeds support library programs for all ages.
Donations are welcome!
There is also an ongoing, honor system book sale during all library open hours in the library meeting room.
Story Snowflakes Workshop
Saturday, December 6th, 12:00 - 4:00 PM
Join artist Brooke Pederson for an engaging look at her paper cut story snowflakes. Learn about her artistic process and how to fold and cut snowflakes yourself.
All ages are welcome.
