produce (fresh & whole only) to the library, and take home something different from another garden.

Friends of the Library (FOL) Monthly Meeting
Monday, June 8th, 2:00 - 3:00 PM (Social Time at 1:30 PM)
Guest speaker - Sandy Harley, Executive Director of the Ocean Shores Food Bank.
The Ocean Shores Friends of the Library is dedicated to providing support and advocacy for the library. FOL is instrumental in supporting children, adult, and teen library programs as well as the new pavilion rugs and computers. Attend the meeting and find out what’s happening now. The FOL welcomes you and your ideas to continue their excellent contributions to your library.
Ocean Shores French Club

Questions about how a fiction writer creates a story idea or how a mystery story comes together? Questions about how books are developed and published? This is your chance to meet with two authors and ask your burning questions.

Let's Talk... SeaMar Pathways Program Friday, June 12th, 2:00 - 3:30 PM
Join us in discussing Sea Mar's Care Management Pathways program. A program that coordinates services to meet individuals' unique needs. Care Coordination connects clients to resources and services that provide for a whole person continuum of care, including physical health , behavioral health, and social supports, such as access to food or housing.
Book Group
Monday, June 15th, 3:00 - 4:00 PM
This month's book will be a novel, "The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox" by Maggie O'Farrell.
Book Group meets on the 3rd Monday of the month in the Library Meeting Room. The Friends of the Library support the Book Group financially, and purchase 10 copies of each title that check out for 2 weeks. Books are kept in the work room, so ask the staff at the circulation desk for a copy.

Adult Summer Reading Program Tuesday, June 16th - Friday, August 14th
Plant A Seed, Read! For every 100 pages that you read, black out a book on the tree. Attend any library program or bring in 2 non-perishable food bank donations to black out a root. Receive an entry into the end of summer drawing for every 5 books or every 2 roots that you black out. Finish the entire tree to get a special entry!

Computer Class: Internet Safety

Learn what you can do to keep your information safe on the internet, this class will cover passwords, how to spot a scam, and more.

Let’s Talk... Understanding Retirement Account Rules & Required Withdrawals

Understand the rules that govern retirement accounts such as
Traditional and Roth IRAs, employer retirement plans, and Certificates of Deposit (CDs).
The presentation focuses on Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs), when withdrawals are required, how they are calculated, and common mistakes that can lead to penalties or higher taxes and Medicare premiums.

Virtual Reality (VR)

A whole world of immersive experiences awaits! Come experience VR, whether it’s kayaking through whitewater rapids, a walk on the beach, fishing around the world, or spelunking in deep dark caves, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Apple Gala - All Ages Friday, June 26th, 2:00 - 4:00 PM
Apple Pie Enjoy a slice of apple pie and a sip of apple cider during the festivities and check out all these wonderful events!
Children's Craft Station There will be a craft station where children can make a Handprint Apple Tree and a fun Lifecycle of an Apple booklet!
Snowbird Cidery - Cider Press We will take the first steps in the cider making process by grinding and pressing apples into sweet, natural cider. We will begin by scratting (grinding) the apples into a fine pomace that we will then press into juice using a hydropress. There is nothing quite like fresh pressed apple cider.
Apple Treasure Hunt Come learn about apples and enter our contest to win a Gift Certificate. It’s a treasure hunt to find the facts about apples and their history in America. The answers are scattered throughout the event. Correct entry forms have a chance to win one of three IGA gift certificates. All are invited to participate in this free, educational contest. The drawing is at 3:30pm.
Rayven the Clown Rayven the Clown is ready to make you smile and tickle your funny bone. Children of ALL ages are invited to meet a real clown for a special balloon animal and lots of laughs! Get ready for more fun than you could shake a rubber chicken at!

D&D Game Night

Want to play Dungeons and Dragons but don't have group of people to play with? The library has all the materials you'll need to play, all you need to bring is a desire to adventure! This program is open to everyone ages 10 and older. No prior experience with D&D is required, players of all experience levels are welcome!
Drawing: the Art of Line Drawing
Tuesday, June 30th, 3:00 - 4:00 PM
In this drawing workshop we invite participants to see how much a simple line can do. Using guided exercises we'll practice continuous line work, patterns and expressive mark-making to explore how lines can create texture and movement.
Presented by Leslee Houston Huntsman, a SilverKite® teaching artist from Washington, specializing in India ink. Leslie loves painting, sculpting and repurposing driftwood and other materials, and believes that everyone can create art.

Sunday from 1:00 - 3:00 PM there will be a $5 bag sale!
Book sales are held in the Library Meeting Room. Books of all genres will be available for purchase. Great deals on books, DVDS, audio books, games etc. Proceeds support library programs for all ages.
Donations are welcome!
There is also an ongoing, honor system book sale during all library open hours in the library meeting room.
